Obama says there’s no money. He says it’s the sequester. I say it’s bullshit.
I am very tired of reading stories about how our military are being continually asked to make sacrifices and are victims of disrespect from this administration. The orders and decisions may technically come from the military but if you are going to claim the title of Commander-in-Chief then you must be held accountable.
President Obama can embark upon his 100 million dollar adventure but cannot make sure our military men and women can celebrate Independence Day in the style they have been used to for decades. This is beyond disrespectful to these young men and women who have served so admirably. Fourth of July fireworks festivities have been cancelled at the following bases:
- Camp Lejeune
- Fort Bragg
- Shaw Air Force Base
- Pearl Harbor-Hickam
We live in a country where our president uses Marines to hold umbrellas, our veteran’s hospitals are being left understaffed and we can’t seem to find the money to provide hot meals for our men and women overseas due to budget cuts.
So, how in the hell can we afford to send the Obama’s to Africa for $100 million and not pay for $25,000 worth of fireworks for some Marines who deserve a little hard-earned entertainment? Answer: He loves himself more than he loves our soldiers.
Fireworks are a part of Independence Day. It reminds us of where we came from and what we still fight for. We are all a bit tired of this nonsense of our military being asked to make continued sacrifices while the Commander-in-Chief demands the service of floating military hospitals, 56 support vehicles, 14 limousines and 24 hour coverage with fighter jets, etc.
I believe Obama hates America and will do anything he can to continue to rob its greatness. This is an administration that is hell bent on destruction of everything we hold dear and has been since day one.
Where is his sense of fiscal responsibility? Where is his sense of priorities?
At a time when we need to rein in government spending, the Obama administration has regularly and repeatedly shown a lack of good judgment.
This may seem an insignificant story to some but to me it has to do with the frustration of seeing a growing level of disrespect for our nation’s finest.
If any service men and women read this, I thank you for your service. There would be no Fourth of July without you.
